FAQ
Does Lunable disc work for low or high cervix?
Yes, it does.
Lunable disc features a universal design that works comfortably for both low and high cervixes.
The stem can be easily trimmed to your preferred length, allowing you to adjust the fit to suit your body.
Can I use Lunable disc with an IUD?
Yes, you can.
Most people with IUDs can use a menstrual disc safely. Just be careful when removing the disc so you don’t tug on the IUD strings.
If you’re unsure about your IUD position or it was recently inserted, check with your healthcare provider.
Can I sleep with Lunable disc?
Yes, you can.
Lunable disc is safe to wear while sleeping.
How long can I wear Lunable disc without emptying it?
Up to 12 hours.
If you have a heavier flow, you may need to empty it sooner. Always remove and empty your disc at least once every 12 hours for safety.
If you experience any discomfort or unusual reactions, stop using the product and consult your healthcare professional.
How long does Lunable disc last?
Up to 10 years, with proper care.
Always inspect it for any signs of wear or damage before use, and follow the cleaning and storage instructions to ensure safety and hygiene.
Can I have sex while wearing Lunable disc?
Yes, if you choose to trim off the entire stem and handle.
However, Lunable disc is not a contraceptive and does not provide protection against sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
Can I use Lunable disc if I haven’t had vaginal sex?
Yes, you can.
Virginity doesn’t affect disc use.
Can Lunable disc get lost inside me?
No, it cannot.
The cervix prevents the disc from moving beyond its proper position, so it cannot get lost. While it may shift slightly higher, this is completely normal.
Lunable disc features a long stem to make locating and removal easier. Once you feel comfortable using the disc, the stem can be trimmed to your preferred length.
Will I experience leaking while using Lunable disc?
No, you shouldn't.
If you notice leaking only when you urinate, this may be due to auto-dumping, which can happen for some users (this will be explained in a later question).
If you experience leaking even when you are not urinating, and you have tried both disc sizes, it’s likely that the disc is not positioned correctly.
What could cause the disc to be positioned incorrectly?
Here are some common reasons:
1. Cervix not fully covered
If the disc isn’t covering your cervix completely, it can cause leakage. After inserting the disc, gently check that you can touch your cervix from the bottom of the disc. This means it’s sitting properly inside.
2. Disc not tucked high enough
The front rim of the disc should sit behind your pubic bone. Push the front rim up high enough to make sure the disc feels stable and secure.
3. Movement after insertion
Quick movements or staying in one position for a long time can sometimes shift the disc. If this happens, simply adjust the disc to restore its proper position.
What is auto-dumping and is it good?
Auto-dumping happens for some users depending on individual anatomy.
It is a natural process where a small amount of menstrual fluid may be released during urination, even when the disc is in place.
If it happens, you can simply adjust the disc afterward to maintain a secure fit.
Many users find this helps reduce the amount of fluid in the disc without needing to remove it entirely.
Does Lunable disc get discolored and is it safe?
Yes, it could be discolored over time and it's still safe to use.
Discoloration is normal and occurs due to contact with menstrual fluid or natural oxidation. It does not affect the disc’s safety or performance.
In order to remove discoloration, you may use a gentle, fragrance-free soap and warm water to clean the disc thoroughly.
